Group Hypnobirthing+ Course (6).png

When should I take the course?

Although I make a suggestion of suitable due date periods for each course, it really is up to you when you start. People have started as early as 20 weeks and as late as 35. I would recommend getting in touch with me for a private essentials session if you after later than 36 weeks.

Does my birth partner have to attend?

I would highly recommend they do! Honestly, birth partners find the course just as (if not more!) useful and helpful than the pregnant partner. I see birth partners grow in confidence and knowledge and leave the sessions loving it! Also, a birth partner doesn't have to be a romantic partner. Bring your sister/mum/cousin/friend/doula- whoever you like!

Will my birth be pain free?

Sadly, I cannot say it will. Hypnobirthing is not a pain relief. It is a collection of tools and techniques to help you manage the intense sensations of birth. Birth is a powerful and physical process, which we all feel differently. Reframing the way we feel about and experience this process will help you manage.

What if I don't have a 'natural' birth? Does it work for epidurals? Inductions? Caesareans?

Hypnobirthing is for ALL births. Learning all about the 'what ifs' and how to enhance your experience however your birth happens is so important. It's not about HOW you give birth...it's about how you feel when you give birth. My approach is realistic, honest and non-judgmental.

Should I take another course (e.g. NCT) as well?

This is not necessary. The full group course has been designed to be a one-stop-shop for all of your birth and postnatal education and preparation needs. You also have the social benefit of meeting other like-minded parents to join your support network.

If you have any further questions, please do contact me, I'd love to hear from you!
